A native of London, Kentucky, Sean Ellison Moynahan attended the University of Virginia, graduating in 2006 with a B.A. in history. He earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2010. Sean has been with the firm since he began as a law clerk in 2008. Prior to law school, he worked for the United States Probation Office, Eastern District of Kentucky.

Sean has deep roots in the Lexington area dating back to his great-great-great-grandfather, John Moynahan, who settled in Lexington after emigrating from Ireland in the 1840s. Sean is the grandson of the late Bernard T. Moynahan, Jr., of Nicholasville, Kentucky, former Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

An active member of the Lexington community, Sean is a regular volunteer for local charities and also enjoys challenges away from the law including participating in local running events and other athletic competitions.
